This back corner has a big dent, probably from backing up into a tree many years ago. Craig will replace this.
Fresh Sheets
A fresh sheet is readied.
Must Be Replaced
Now Craig concentrates on the exterior. This entire sheet of aluminum must be replaced. All dented panels will be replaced.
Sneak Peek
A little peek inside. The body is now attached to the frame again. Looking nice and clean inside.
Heavy Metal
After the floor and insulation is installed, the body is placed back on the frame.
New Insulation
Next, Craig installs new insulation over the new floor and frame.
Papa’s Got a Brand New Frame
The amazing Craig Dorsey has built a brand new frame for my Airstream. Now when it’s finished, it will be a brand, new 1969 Airstream. Top to bottom.
Beyond Redemption
Bad news. The frame is rusted beyond redemption. Craig will now have to build an entirely new frame. We weren’t counting on this expense.
